About Us
Housed in the Auburn University College of Human Sciences, the Auburn University Social Development Lab is located in the Center for Health Ecology and Equity Research and is led by Dr. Wendy Troop-Gordon. Our research examines how peer dynamics change and remain the same over time and how this plasticity and constancy relates to long-term psychosocial health. Our work involves collaborations between faculty and graduate students in Auburn's HDFS department, as well as, with faculty and students in other colleges at Auburn and other academic institutions. We are also committed to supporting and promoting undergraduate research at Auburn University by a) recruiting undergraduate research assistants from multiple colleges and disciplines including Human Development and Family Studies (College of Human Science), Psychology (College of Liberal Arts), and Biomedical Sciences (College of Science and Mathematics), b) providing meaningful research training in project design, data collection and cleaning, and data analysis, c) fostering creativity through collaboration on manuscripts, posters, and conference presentations, and d) supporting individual student research interests by mentoring independent research.
